The School’s Organisation
Richard Atkins is a two-form entry school organised into single age group classes. It has a nursery unit that takes pupils the term after their third birthday. The primary school admits pupils between the ages of
5 – 4 (the academic year they turn 5) and eleven.
The school’s annual intake is a maximum of 60 pupils in each year group from reception upwards. This works out at a maximum of 30 pupils in each class. However, in the academic year 2011-2012, we accepted three reception classes due to demand. There is a maximum of 90 pupils in that year group.
